There is some discrepancy as to the ownership of this amazing carving job. (Nice work, Jake. Or is it Sheri?)

We had 4,071 visitors this year, pretty good for a Monday. We managed to raise about $4,000 for our favorite charity, the Nanaimo & District Hospital Foundation.
Unfortunately, our fantastic photographer and coffee Queen from 2004 (Steve & Nicki) were unable to make it, and we were all too busy scaring people to get a lot of pictures once things got happening.
We also had problems with some of our visitors. Who would have thought that some people never learned as children to keep their hands to themselves? In response to the troubles we had, here are excerpts of a letter we submitted to the editor of the local papers...
To the Editor,
The Halloween House is closed for another year, and it breaks our hearts to admit it was not the best year. We had difficulties with the behaviour of several visitors to our attraction.
Keeping this in mind, please print the following:
Etiquette For Visiting Haunted Houses
1) This is our yard. Please respect it and everything in it. We enjoy entertaining you, but it takes hundreds of hours and hundreds of our own dollars.
2) Our staff won't touch you, please don't touch them...ANYWHERE! (Would you REALLY grab the breast of a statue? Then please refer to rule #1)
3) Staff Only means Staff Only!
4) No Alcohol means No Alcohol.
5) No Smoking means No Smoking. Think of the hay, the flammable costumes, the other visitors standing near you.
6) Please don't ruin others' good time. If you tell everyone in earshot what's going to happen next, why should they bother coming?
So, the deal is...
We are going to try it ONE more time. We really don't want to end on a sour note, and we really have a good time doing this, in spite of the fact it took six weeks to set up, and looks like a month to put it away. We'll increase security, maybe ask the police to help, and will be RUTHLESS in refusing entry to drunks and people with fireworks. IF YOU PLAN ON VISITING IN 2006, PLEASE LEAVE YOUR BAD MANNERS AT HOME!
